Intra-Company Transfers
This allows employers in the UK to transfer staff in branches throughout the world to join a branch within the UK. The main benefit of a UK Work Permit as an ICT is that, unlike a standard UK Work Permit, an employer does not need to demonstrate that the position has been advertised before applying. The ICT route provides a straightforward solution to working in the UK with a specific purpose.
ICT’s allow a UK based employer to fill a specific position, which they have been unable to fill from the resident United Kingdom or EU work force. Applying for an Intra-Company Transfer UK work permit allows a non-EU citizen to work in the UK in a specific role for a specific company for an agreed period.
For this type of permit working candidates need to:
1.
As with all UK Work Permits, an application for a UK Work Permit as an ICT must be made by the sponsoring company, not by the candidate themselves. However, the candidate will need to apply for UK entry clearance themselves.
Have been employed by the overseas branch of the company for a period of six months or more prior to the application, and
2.Demonstrate that he/she has the relevant knowledge and experience to fulfil the role.
