The Multi Track
This track is used for cases that are too complicated or
of too high a value for the Fast Track, or requires a trial
that is likely to take more than one day in length.
The directions are very similar to those in the Fast Track,
but are likely to have longer periods between each direction
due to the greater amount of documentation and evidence
involved. There is no definitive set of directions for Multi
Track cases and the Court tends to take a more active role
in managing such cases. This may mean that the Court will
order that Directions Hearings or Case Management
Conferences ('CMCs') take place so that a Judge can
check on the progress of a claim and ensure that appropriate
directions are given.
